What the hell do you MEAN, "So What"?
Fifty years ago today, Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Cannonball Adderly, Bill Evans, Paul Chambers, Jimmy Cobb, and Paul Chambers recorded the first three tracks of what would become arguably the best jazz album ever recorded before or since: Kind of Blue.
I've bought several copies of Kind of Blue over the years, because every so often I'll encounter someone who hasn't ever heard it, and I'll hand them my copy and say, "Keep it - I'll get another one."
In honor of this watershed moment in jazz, enjoy Davis et al.'s rendition of "So What" on me.
